The Sheeple of PoliticsWhy oh why do people not realize the painfully obvious pattern of candidates running for President?
They tell people what they WANT to hear and when whatever candidate wins, he/she will just do whatever his/her own agenda that none of the people voted for.
I'll bet you that people will be complaining years later about how bad of a job the President did AGAIN! Heeeelllloooooooo! What made you think that it would be any different this time around?!?
Are people that easily fooled? Are they THAT brainwashed? I won't be surprised if the answer is yes.
Talk, talk, talk, talk, talk! Politicians talk a good game, but never deliver or walk the walk.
They say "Don't vote, don't complain." Well, I voted plenty of times before and am STILL complaining. Why should I waste my time voting for the lesser of the two evils especially when it's all empty, pretty promises?
Why does anyone bother anymore?
Look at them all rallying for their favorite candidate and cheering. They have you right where they wa
Divided We FallYou know, when things are in turmoil, people are quick to look for scape goats to put the blame on. 'It's those lazy bottom-feeders' faults." "It's the top-feeders' wealthy welfare that's to blame." "It's the illegal immigrants who steal our jobs' fault!" "It's President _______'s fault. Take back America!" I'm sure in other countries they have their woes about their society and government as well.
Honestly speaking, most people don't realize it, but bickering and pointing fingers doesn't really help to fix the problems either. It's bad enough that the elite don't want to do the right thing which will cause them to lose out on their plans, but add a bickering mass population to the mix and nothing will ever get done.
Yes, there are lazy bottom-feeders who are druggies and abuse the system, but what makes people think that they're ALL lazy leeches? Things are just that bad that a lot of people are stuck in a fruitless cycle. There's a load of people who would love to make their own, but
Stand Your Ground or Vigilantism on Steroids? There are laws in the United States that are dividing us once again. Race, politics, religion are among the top wedges in our society, but this one is equally as dangerous and fiery.
It's the Stand Your Ground law that has been implemented in a lot of states. Some people have taken the initiative to treat such a law as a "Pursue and Destroy" and/or "Shoot Because I Feel Like It" law. There have been cases where those who were wrongfully imprisoned when their actions were justifiable. And many others where people walked away with murder because they used the law as a scapegoat.
In Florida, a Mexican pastor was shot and killed in his backyard because he was praising the Lord on which he was singing and dancing. He was unarmed, across the street down the block from the shooter's home, and was not threatening anyone in any way. The shooter felt "threatened" at the pastor's actions and felt it necessary to shoot and kill him. Incredibly, the shooter got off without a hitch. Also in Florida,

State of impunity
By Isagani Zarate
The glaring non-mention of the infamous Ampatuan massacre in President Aquino’s speech at the 9th Media Nation Summit last Friday in Tagaytay City revealed how the administration is taking the issue of impunity three years after 58 innocent lives were mercilessly murdered in Ampatuan town, Maguindanao province.
The belated attempts (blaming the absence of a live coverage of the trial) of Malacañang’s talking heads to deflect criticisms hurled by media organizations, human rights groups and relatives of the massacre victims are simply appalling, to say the least. It only exposes the apparent lack of resolve by the administration to deliver justice to the victims, as it promised during the 2010 presidential elections.
Indeed, such a lack of resolve, particularly by the Aquino administration, only
Do Not Forget3 gov’ts remind PH: Do not forget
Three foreign governments on Friday joined the commemoration of the third anniversary of the Maguindanao massacre and reminded the Philippine government, which seemed to have forgotten the event, about its promise to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Nearly 200 people are facing charges for the massacre, but only 103 have been accounted for and the trial of those who have been charged moves no faster than a snail’s pace.
Militants marched to Mendiola Bridge in Manila on Friday carrying 153 mock coffins representing the massacre victims and victims of unresolved journalist killings.
Many of those killed in the Maguindanao massacre were journalists.
The marchers, led by members of the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP), challenged President Benigno Aquino III to make good on his promise to deliver justice to the families of slain journalists.
The governments of the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom issued stat

Groups urge speedy justice
By Julie Aurelio, Philip C. Tubeza
Three years after the gruesome Maguindanao massacre, proceedings against the accused in what has been described as “the trial of the century” grind at a snail’s pace and have not even reached the halfway mark.
Lawyer Harry Roque, who represents families of journalists killed in the massacre, said that 91 of the 194 suspects in the case had yet to be arrested.
“If this were like climbing a 100-story building, we would still be on the 20th floor,” Roque said in an interview.
Human Rights Watch on Thursday urged President Aquino to do more to break up dozens of private armed groups in the wake of the country’s worst political massacre blamed on the powerful Ampatuan clan.
“Three years since the horrors of the Maguindanao massacre, the trial crawls along, half of the suspects remain at large, and the victims’ families still face threa

for a child without guilt, which there is no more...
Hamid Abu Younis Dagka
posted on Reset Italia by Doriana Goracci
A Palestinian child, Hamid Younis Abu Dagka, 13,
was killed today during an Israeli raid near Farahin,
to the east of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza Strip.
The shots of the military have also caused some injuries.
With the aim of cutting down trees, eight Israeli armored vehicles,
including tanks and bulldozers, had already penetrated into Gaza this morning,
at the height of Khouzaa, always in southern Gaza, clashing with Palestinian fighters.
The shards of Israeli gunfire had wounded a 24-year old Palestinian close to Al Maghazi.
Sedition raps junked vs Indian illustratorSedition charge dropped against Indian cartoonist
MUMBAI– An Indian state has dropped charges of sedition against a cartoonist who was arrested over his anti-corruption drawings last month in a case that outraged free-speech activists, his lawyer said Friday.
Aseem Trivedi, 25, was detained and bailed four days later under laws governing sedition, information technology and protecting India’s national flag and constitution.
“The sedition charges have been dropped but the other charges continue,” his lawyer Vijay Hiremath told AFP, explaining that western Maharashtra state’s advocate general had filed an affidavit to the Bombay High Court.
Trivedi’s arrest had sparked a backlash against Indian authorities, accused by campaigners and rights groups of using British colonial-era sedition laws to silence dissent in the country.
The maximum penalty for sedition in India is life imprisonment.
Trivedi’s controversial cartoons include one of the
Want more commissions? This journal is for artists who want to get more commissions, or want to open commissions and never had so they don't know how best to present their art, or even for those artists who took commissions before but would appreciate some more tips
There are a few pretty important things to consider before publicly announcing you're opening commissions:
1. payment method. The deviantart commission widget takes 20% of your profit, but then again more deviants have points so you're likely to get 20% more customers like that. But don't forget there are people who have paypal and don't feel like dealing with points so if you decide to open commissions through deviantart, don't let that be the ONLY payment method.
Paypal is the most common payment method used online and i strongly recommend it. Make a paypal account, connect it to a card and you're ready. But don't forget paypal has a limit of $3000 per year withdrawal. So if you're serious about drawing art for a living and you

Inspiration: youtube artists (part 1)Dear, deviantart fellow artists
Hi - so I'm starting new series of journals with useful resources - mainly because I'm running out of topics to write about and I just like some diversity. (I'll continue to post general art/motivational journals too every now and then)
Here are some of my favorite youtube artists, that inspire me and I hope that these resources might be helpful for you too.
'Level up!' is an idea of two Polish artists - Wojtek Fus ( WojciechFus ) and Darek Zabrocki ( daRoz ), who want to teach and learn from each other. The Illuminated World ContestStock & Resources
Imagine a world where the soft glow of the magnolia blossoms illuminates the sidewalk. The reaching branches of the tree cast their light over the street, reflected in the gathering puddles of a spring rain. A garden nearby is a riot of colors against the deep shadows of the night. The harsh artificial street lights that we know today are gone. What would your world look like? Is it a world where the need for fossil fuel has been eliminated, or have the scientists bio-engineered the earth into a beautiful apocalypse?
The idea of bio-luminescent plant illumination is a real project in progress by three scientists in San Francisco, California. These scientists are engineering marine bio-luminous bacterial DNA into plants to make them glow. You can read more about their project here: Glowing Plants: Street Lig

DYNAMIC AND ACTIVE POSING FOR STOCKStock & Resources
Broadly defined, Action Stock is any photo-reference in which the subject is doing SOMETHING. That 'something' does not need to be extreme or particularly kinetic, it just has to show the effects of various forces on the bodies (or other objects) in the image. Perusing an artifact, sitting on someone's knee, even enjoying the aroma of a cup of coffee are great examples of actions that, when explored as stock images, can be of great value to artists.
Of course, there is nothing wrong with extreme, kinetic, over-the-top actions, either...
~ ~ ~
It's worth stating the obvious: if you are interested in exploring the more "kinetic" end of the action spectrum, know your limits. Don't work beyond your skill level and observe all necessary safety precautions; no shot is worth getting hurt over.
